Foley / Strudel / p5.js / Hydra

Sound Design& Creative Coding

A two-part university project exploring sound as design material: first by rebuilding the foley and realism of a selected music video, then by creating a Persona 5 inspired live performance with Strudel, p5.js, and Hydra.

Part 01 / Foley redesign

Rebuilding a music video from visible motion.

The sound map turns the video into a list of physical events. Each cue becomes a small design problem: what material, what distance, what intensity, and what rhythm makes the shot feel believable?

Pattern code switches between tension, combat, and all-out attack rhythms, with a separate showtime burst layered on top.

Performance graphics

p5.js

Masks, ransom-style banners, halftone fields, scanlines, and showtime flashes sit above the visual texture layer.

Visual texture

Hydra

Oscillators, kaleidoscopes, thresholding, rotation, and noise modulation create the moving stage backdrop.
